Immediately after this fire was reported I stepped outside my residence and saw heavy black smoke just a few blocks away. I arrived on scene to find an off duty fire fighter from another department who was passing by, using the only means available at the time to fight this fire. It was quickly noted that the power lines had severed from the pole and fallen in the most obvious path to the fire. This presented a clear and present danger for all responding personnel and I was persistent to make it known as FD units arrived on the scene. Once the red line was charged and purged, this fire was quickly extinguished. It is thought that this fire may have been caused a cigarette! It is understood that this building was used as a bedroom!
