At Approximately 5:30, March 6, The White Settlement Fire Department was summoned to a brush fire located at LasVegas Trail and Downe st. PD called fire dispatch and reported the fire. Brush 4, Pump 3, Pump 1, were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival about 5 acres were on fire and the fire was being driven by a 20 MPH south wind, and quickly grew. The fire was located in a field not accessible by the pump units, therefore mutual aid was requested from the cities of Benbrook, Lake Worth, and the Lockheed Martin Fire Department. The fire spread to about 30 acres before firemen were able to get it under control. Due to the large plume day of smoke  on an otherwise clear day, a continuous caravan on onlookers were attracted to the fire and PD was kept busy with crowd control. The fire was brought under control after about one hour.
