Thursday evening, April 26th, at approximately 9:15 PM the White Settlement Fire Department  was summoned to a car fire at the Shell station located at 9251 White Settlement Road in the city. Pump 1 arrived on the scene shortly after the call was toned out. Cpt. Barry Stuard with Firemen Rodden and Staine attacked the fire head on.  Firefighter McDonald was engineer on pump 1.

Several on lookers observed as these firemen made quick work extinguishing this fire. Fortunately, this extra hazardous condition was neutralized with out any further damage.

The occupants of the vehicle stated that the had run out of gas before reaching the station and had to push it by hand to the position seen in the photos. Immediately after arriving at the gas pump, fire was noticed underneath the automobile. A passer by ran to get the fire extinguisher from the station attendant and to notify the fire department. The extinguisher did little to stop the fire.

Police blocked traffic until the situation was neutralized. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. The car was totaled.
