On October 20, 2008, WSFD received a call for a house on fire. Command 1 with Operations Chief B. Hekele arrived on scene first reporting a single story residence with heavy smoke showing. Engine 2 arrived just seconds after and began their fire attack. Engine 3 established the water supply, then assisted E2 inside the residence. Due to the fire being located in the attic, Quint 1 was ordered to vertically ventilate. All responding companies were on scene within 6 minutes and made a great stop.

Engine 3 crew was LT Schwartz, Eng Williams, FF Gage.

Quint 1 crew was BC Thompson, Eng Holt, FF B. Giles.
