WSFD responded to a reported apartment fire with multiple 911 calls. C2 Mike Ikerd was first on scene reporting fire showing from the second story balcony and under the eaves. On this day there was a strong north wind and fast fire spread was a fear. P3 arrived on scene with Engineer Mike Collins, Battalion Chief Ellis, and Captain Brian Hekele. This crew quickly extended a line into the second floor apartment and began extinguishing the fire. P3 found little fire in the apartment, with most fire found in the attic. P1 arrived on and assisted in laying a supply line. Quint 1 assisted in overhaul, extending its aerial for roof access. West Worth Village was contacted for manpower.
Most of the fire was extinguished quickly, but crews remained on scene for a couple more hours for overhaul.
