The White Settlement Volunteer Fire Department was awakened at 4 AM Sunday morning with a request to respond to commercial structure fire called in by PD. C1, Pump 3, Pump 1 and Quint 1 all responded to the location of The Highway Oil Company on Las Vegas Trail in the city. PD told fire dispatch that they confirmed that this was a working fire.

First units on arrived to find smoke billowing from the roof of the cinder block structure. The officer on pump called for a big booster and made entrance into the men's restroom and began attacking the flames. Almost immediately it was determined that the fire and smoke in the restroom was coming from the adjacent  main office area by way of a  a 2'x2' hole in the wall.

Upon entering through the front door firemen found the source of the fire and had it extinguished with a few minutes. The body of the fire was located in the area of the safe. The origin of the fire is suspicious. No one was injured. The business sustained heavy damage and the dollar amount of damage has not been determined at this time.
