The White Settlement Fire Department was summoned at 3:30 AM, December 10, to respond to the report of a car fire. Pump1 manned by Cpt. Mike Chandler, Firemen, Gwyn Culpepper, R.J. Schwartz and Bruce Sherman responded to a used car lot located in the 700 block of south Cherry lane. Upon arrival it was noted that at least 3 automobiles were on fire on the back row of a car lot. These firemen fought hard to get these fires under control in high wind conditions. A 4th auto  was noticed one row up that it also had been on fire. However it appeared that the tight seal the doors made starved the fire of needed oxygen. The cause of the fires is suspicious and is under investigation.
