The White Settlement  Fire Department was summoned to a structure fire in the 200 block of Judd in the city. The police department rolled up on the fire during routine patrol and notified FD at approximately 3:45 AM, Sunday morning August 29. The residence is only 2 blocks from my home and I was on scene very quickly. The occupants were on vacation in Germany.

Pump 3 arrived  first on scene to find a bedroom fully involved.. Fireman Craig Slovak and Lt. Brian Hekele made entry through the front door. Within 3 minutes they had the fire under control. After other units arrive they entered the residence and discovered  5 dogs and 1 cat. Some which were reluctant to exit the house. However the firemen prevailed and all the animals were safely removed and given to the charge of a neighbor.
