The White Settlement Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in the 300 block of Pemberton in the city. C1 was the first unit on and reported fire showing. He declared this to be a working fire. Pump 3 with firemen Brian Thompson, Vance Scifres and Lt Todd Williams were the first fighting unit on scene. Kevin Ricther was Engineer on Pump 3. They immediately pulled a big booster and made entrance through the front door of the residence. Command had ordered the next unit in to lay a line, but rescinded that order as the first team in had the fire under control in a very short amount of time. Command declared the fire under control after 5 minutes.

Other units which responded along with Pump3 were, Pump 1, Quint1 and Utility 1. The units were on scene for about 2 hours overhauling the scene.

Three residents were displaced by the fire. Red Cross was notified and asked to make the scene. The front bedroom received considerable flame damage. The rest of the home was obviously damaged by heat and smoke. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. A year 2 year old boy was examined by Paramedics and released to his parents. No fire fighters were injured.
