While customers were busy returning Christmas gifts at a local Wal-Mart, the White Settlement Fire Department fighting a van fire in the parking lot. Pump 1 with Chief Dan Taylor and firemen Mike Cochrane and Melvin Wilson made the scene at about 2:25 Sunday afternoon.  Even though there was a timely response to this fire scene, it is needless to say this van was a total loss.


PD was kept busy preventing onlookers from coming too close to the fire and directing traffic. The fire was quickly extinguished. I was not able to locate the owner to try and determine the cause.
