On December 6,at approximately 3 AM the White Settlement Fire Department received tone to respond to an MVA at West Point Blvd and I-820. Arriving units found 2 wrecked vehicles and 2 victims in need of assistance. Crews from pump 2 and pump 3 began attending to both victims. Soon after arrival is was determined that the individual driving the SUV was in need of extrication. All the necessary equipment was in place to facilitate extraction. Once firemen were able to free the victim it was quickly determined his life was in immediate danger and Care Flight was requested.

The driver of the truck was transported by ground and his injuries were not life threatening. According to an eye witness of the accident. The driver of the truck was beginning a left turn onto a bridge from the interstate access road when he was blindsided by the occupant of the SUV who was traveling at a high rate of speed.
