At approximately 18:15 on January 29, the White Settlement Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident just outside the main gate of Lockheed Martin manufacturing plant. C2, Jack Bell was first on scene and immediately determined Care Flight would be needed and instructed dispatch accordingly. Pump 2 arrived on the  scene and EMT's began to further assess and stabilize the victim.

During this time of day, Spur 341 becomes the main artery back into the city as multiplied thousands exit Lockheed.  History has indicated that turning against this traffic flow can have devastating results. The driver of a Ford sedan indicated this is exactly what she did and stated she never saw the motorcycle. As she was turning left against oncoming traffic the  Kawasaki motorcycle hit directly behind the right front tire, and driver was thrown from the bike and made contact with the windshield of the sedan and then with the pavement. Another witness indicated she was driving directly behind the motorcycle and almost  ran over the bike rider.

Paramedics on scene indicated his injuries were life threatening. The individual was stabilized  and was sent to a local hospital via helicopter.
