The White Settlement Fire Department, Pump 2 and Utility 1  were summoned to a motor vehicle accident at approximately 9:20 PM on a rainy Monday evening, November 17th. The driver of an east bound Chevy Pickup on Silver Creek Road told emergency personnel he had fallen asleep at the wheel  when he struck a parked pickup truck from the rear.

From surveying the scene it is apparent he was traveling at a high rate of speed. The manned vehicle hit the parked vehicle and the parked vehicle was pushed about 70 feet up the road, yet not before it took out the brick mail box and hurled it about 20 feet.

The injured driver was promptly attended to by Fire Department emergency personnel and was handed off to Medstar for  transport to a local hospital.
